There will be questions like: what happened to Elle played by Anna Sawai, F9’s human McGuffin, who was also Han’s protege? Will we ever see a CGI/Deepfake Brian? And can a plane truly be fueled by…VODKA?! Fast X, the latest installment of the franchise, is more like Act I of which will reportedly be a trilogy–and to say it leaves you in a Dodge Charger as it’s about to run off a cliff is an understatement.

Do not expect resolve. But be happy that it gives us Jason Momoa as the delightful Dante, a vengeful villain, who has the deranged nihilistic streak of the Joker, except he’s as distractingly handsome as, well, Aquaman. (Like Momoa, the character is perpetually in silky shirts with many undone buttons.) This installment, perhaps more than any other, leans into the idea of family, and how, as a concept it's immortal both figuratively and literally (expect some surprise blasts from the past.) Despite this movie not having as many off-the wall set pieces as the last (it's hard to beat a Fiero in space), if you’re part of the Fast Fam, you’ll take it and love it. Aimes played by Alan Ritchson, the new head of the secret organization known as The Agency sums it up best during an expository moment in the beginning of the film: “Everyone becomes family,” he says. “It’s like a cult with cars.”
