Safe to say that none of the contestants who signed up for Too Hot to Handle had any intention of leaving the show attached to a significant other, seeing as they didn’t even know they signed up for Too Hot to Handle in the first place. From the looks of Emily and Cam and Marvin and Melinda in the Netflix reality show’s finale, it turns out the hit show’s whole ‘sexless, self-help in bikinis’ premise might work after all. Maybe.

As for Melinda and Marvin, the news is not as good. After a dramatic go of it on the series, Melinda and Marvin came out on top in the finale, as boyfriend and girlfriend discussing plans to meet each other’s families. They confirmed in the reunion that the love did not last, though. After a fight caused Marvin to cancel a flight to meet Melinda in Mexico at the last minute, the relationship ended on a rocky note.
"We were supposed to be in Mexico, that's correct," she explained in the episode. "Of course, Marvin and I did get into an argument, but he could have put his big boy pants on and still came. But he decided to cancel his whole flight the day that he was supposed to come...I was left in the dark. I was pissed. And then he goes to Mexico a month later! I was just so sad."
After a period without speaking, the ex-pair said they're on better terms now. "I do miss her a lot," admitted Marvin. Melinda, on the other hand, seems to have moved on.
Melinda posted a particularly intimate Instagram of her and fellow contestant Peter in bed yesterday, and Peter also put up a photo of the New York-based pair. What's going on there?
From the looks of their fellow cast members' comments on the photos, Melinda and Peter seem to be, to everyone's surprise, dating. "Welcome to the couples gang," Cam commented on Peter's post. Even Marvin seems to have a good attitude toward his ex's new flame, as he commented "Good job buddy" on Peter's Instagram of the pair and "Congrats" on Melinda's.
At the end of the day, the odds of coming out of this dating show actually dating someone are still close to zero. That won't stop Netflix, though—Season 3 is already in the works.
