Five Nights at Freddy’s is here and ready to make you question society's need for animatronics. The horror movie, starring Josh Hutcherson (!), follows a young man who becomes a security guard at Freddy Fazzbear’s Pizzeria, a defunct party destination for kids. It should be easy enough—all he has to do is watch the party mascots overnight. There’s just one issue: They’re all possessed by dead children.
The epic battle between Hutcherson and a league of extremely tall toys began on October 27. The film is available to watch in theaters and on Peacock. For the full cinematic experience, we recommend watching Hutcherson run for his life on the big screen. However, if the premise of giant killer toys is unsettling to you, it might be better to tune in from home. Just keep a light on, because the story has a killer cliffhanger and a secret message after the credits roll.

Before I explain, let’s rewind a little. Five Nights at Freddy’s is based on a popular video game franchise. Given that there are multiple games in the series, fans wondered if multiple movies are in the works, too. Well, Universal Pictures—the film's distributor—has yet to confirm, but Five Nights at Freddy’s does have a not-so-secret post-credit scene that teases what’s to come.
In the teaser, we see the outside of Freddy Fazzbear’s Pizzeria. Then the camera pans to a taxi driver (played by video-game YouTuber, Cory Devanté Williams) who survives the mayhem. While sitting in his car, he hears a knock on the window. He says he’s closed. Before he can drive off, he turns around to find Balloon Boy sitting in the backseat. If you're unfamiliar with Balloon Boy, he's introduced in the second Five Nights at Freddy’s game—so, chances are, a sequel is in the works.
But that’s not all! When the credits finish, a spooky audio plays with a clue for fans to uncover. The distorted track features the letters “C-O-M-E-F-I-N-D-M-E,” spelling out, “Come find me.” Is the message alluding to Mike Schmidt’s tireless search for his brother, or is it Fazzbear Entertainment owner, William Afton, calling for help? It's hard to say, but someone seems to be in imminent danger.
While we wait to see what happens next, you can watch Five Nights at Freddy’s and scour the film for more easter eggs.
