Not seven minutes into HBO Max's The Prince, Queen Elizabeth II, her Royal Highness, makes a joke about Italians and says the word fuck. Twice. Not that it's impossible, but it's pretty safe to assume that the House of Windsor did not give the green light to the scathing, sometimes demented animated series that is told through the perspective of Prince George. Duchess Kate Middleton is an alcoholic. Prince Philip is... gray. But the whole thing hinges on George—a flamboyant sassafras of a child who lives with the Royal Family and calls the shots as if he is the only queen who matters.

This is all an ongoing joke, of course. Creator Gary Janetti has been running with the joke that Prince George is a tiny royal gossip for a while. And for those offended by the crass repurposing of the royal family (and yes, there's backlash), the series offers up an opening sequence that essentially says: this is a parody, calm down. The series has gotten a lot of attention, and that's likely in large part thanks to the cast that rounds it out. From Game of Thrones alumni to Tony Award winners, The Prince has recruited some of the United Kingdom's finest to throw barbs at the entirely fictional (and still painfully recognizable) Royal Family.

Orlando Bloom as Prince Harry

In this retelling of events, Harry and Meghan are already out in Los Angeles, but you can't have a Royal Family story without a satellite plot featuring England's red-headed prince and his American starlet wife. Bloom has starred in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the Lord of the Rings franchise, and for the real ones, Elizabethtown.

Gary Janetti as Prince George

Janetti's face may not be the most recognizable on the list, but there's a reason. Typically, Janetti has been behind the camera, not in front. He has written for series including Family Guy and Will & Grace. As the creator of The Prince, he also voices Prince George.

Condola Rashād as Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

The voice behind Meghan is Condola Rashād, whose TV credits include Billions. However, Rashād's big breakthroughs in her career have largely been on stage. She has been nominated for four Tony Awards, making her a true theatre power house.

Lucy Punch as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

Punch is likely one of those actors you've seen just about everywhere, even if you didn't know it. Her film and TV credits are extensive, with some of her better known appearances being in Hot Fuzz and Into the Woods.

Alan Cumming as Owen

Cumming needs no introduction. Hilariously playing the only character not based on an actual real-life persona, Cumming lends his comedic talents to the beleaguered butler who serves Prince George. Cumming is best known for his stage work (certainly Cabaret above the rest), as well as his roles in The Good Wife and X2.

Frances de la Tour as Queen Elizabeth II

Watch your backs, Olivia Colman and Imelda Staunton. De la Tour steps into Queen Elizabeth II's shoes with a bawdy take on the royal. De la Tour has previously had roles in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The History Boys, and one of Janetti's past projects, Vicious.

Iwan Rheon as Prince William

Anyone but Ramsay, you know? The Game of Thrones alumni has come to the animated side to voice Prince William. For those unfamiliar with the terrors of Ramsay Bolton (and thus, the danger of him working on another series with Sophie Turner), Rheon has also starred in Netflix's Mötley Crüe biopic, The Dirt.

Sophie Turner as Princess Charlotte

Sansa is here. Turner, who plays Princess Charlotte in The Prince, is best known for her portrayal of Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, though probably in a close second is her role as Jean Gray/Phoenix in the X-Men franchise.

Dan Stevens as Prince Charles and Prince Philip

Dan Stevens is an international treasure, which is probably why he bagged two different roles on The Prince. The actor has also had turns as The Beast in the live action remake of Beauty and the Beast, as well as an absurd role as Russian Eurovision singer Alexander Lemtov in Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.
