About the jokester:
When 29-year-old Australian actress Yvonne Strzechowski got her first American acting role, on NBC's nerd-adored spy comedy Chuck, she ran into one big problem: No one could pronounce her last name. So the show's creators suggested she change it. To Stryker. "With a y!" she says. "That still makes me laugh." She went with the phonetic Strahovski instead. Which led to an on-set nickname, Strahotski. Which became, simply, Hotski. This month, Hotski has her biggest role yet — alongside Jason Statham in Killer Elite. She plays Anne, a country girl who is more or less the complete opposite of the miniskirt-sporting, high-heeled undercover CIA agent Strahovski plays on Chuck. "Anne's down-to-earth, she rides horses, she's natural, she does the work on the farm," Strahovski explains. "She's a no-bullshit Australian gal." Which sounds familiar. —Mark Mikin
